I recieved a ticket for “failing to stop at a stop sign” on the same street I live on (the first stop sign from my house)when there was no traffic on a Sunday morning. I made a left into a center turn lane before signaling right into the main street. Nobody comes to a complete stop at the sign because there is a center turn lane to turn into first and you have to pull out past the stop sign to see if the road is clear because of obstructions of your view.
