Teams lose a lot of money indirectly because of this and no one in sports mgmt wants a NV team to go to a superbowl, world series, etc and not have any betting allowed. UNLV (University of Nevada Las Vegas) & Reno (University of Nevada Reno) both have Division 1 basketball teams. UNLV has been to the final four multiple times. And both UNLV & Reno have been to bowl games in recent years. A Toronto Blue Jays minor league team, the 51s is based on Vegas (formerly affliated with the Dodgers).
