Las Vegas has undertaken programs to reduce per capita water consumption by residential users the casinos are getting better at recycling their water. The Las Vegas Valley Water District has plans on completing a pipeline from an underground aquifer. It remains to be seen if these steps are adequate to counter the growing population and the effects of the sustained drought along the Colorado river basin.
