How long would it take to get from New York City to Las Vegas by train?

las vegas
Tom R asked:

My girlfriend and I are planning a vacation to New York (Manhattan), and then onto Las Vegas Strip (to get married!). We want to travel by train (she says it’s “more romantic”), but I’m just wondering how long, exactly, that would take? Also, what’s the closest train station to Las Vegas strip?

Could someone please help me plot a course? Please help me out!!

Check out the Amtrak website (www.amtrak.com), it has a list of all stations, and will help you to plan a route based on dates, times, length of trip, price… The site also has maps which show all of the different routes. Good luck, and congrats!
