Is it better to visit Las Vegas during the week or on the weekend?

I want to go to Las Vegas during my college’s spring break this coming March. Spring break is from March 5th to 13th. I am debating if it will be better to go from tuesday to friday or thursday to sunday. The weekend might be more fun, but the hotels are much more expensive. I want to know if there will be just as much do to do (for college aged kids keep in mind) during the week or if I should splurge for the weekend rates.

The wonderful thing about Vegas is that there is something to do 24/7 What is your scene? If your big into clubs they get pretty crazy packed on the weekend . But kickbacks always happen =) Terri

Better during the week. Weekends are so crowded and harder to do things. I always visited from Sunday through Friday. Weekends seem to be bumper to bumper even just walking the strip is difficult. lvgeno

During the week. It’s insanely crowded on weekends it seems. Not only are a lot of locals are off work (if they choose to go The Strip), but also the weekenders flying in. There is a slight reduction in some shows being offered, but the standard clubbing, bar hopping, sights, etc is just as active. Plus = you tend to get some cheaper rates during the week because it’s harder to fill the clubs or the shows. HG

You will be just fine visiting during the week, so save some money on the hotel. A lot of people come to Las Vegas to party, so it’s not strictly reserved for the weekends. Plus, being a 24/7 town, locals work all kinds of schedules here, so there are lots of places that have cool happy hours or locals nights during the weekdays. Yes weekends are busier, but there is still plenty to do during the week. Most of the major nightclubs have an “industry” night for locals, and these generally fall during a weekday and are the clubs’ busiest day. Jet on Monday, XS on Tuesdays, etc. Todd English Pub at Aria has 5 cent PBR on Tuesday nights and is always super busy that night. You just have to do a little research to find out where the special promotions are happening during the week, and those will likely be more crowded. Plus, if it’s spring break time, there will be more college kids than average out partying on the strip. finchylp
