Is there any path to drive to Las Vegas from Miami that does not involve driving on a mountain?

I am driving to Las Vegas and I heard driving on mountains are pretty scary (especially when you are towing a car as I will be doing). Is there a way to go around the mountains? Or if not, is there a mountainous path that is not very steep? Please help.

You can get to Vegas without any high mountains, just some small hills. I suggest you look at the route using Google maps satellite view or terrain view.

My apologies to Yahoo maps. D J

the problem is that you need to get to I40 east. The most direct way to do that is to cross the Hoover Dam which involves some steep gradients coming into and away from the dam. At some point this year, a bypass will be completed, but that is not for ten months or so. That will be the most difficult portion to tow a vehicle.
Option (1) take the truck bypass through Laughlin Nevada. After 9/11 they were afraid that trucks could carry enough explosives to blow up the dam and trucks were forced to take a bypass. Look on a map.
Option (2) Take I15 back to Barstow and get on I40 there. This will cost you several hundred miles of additional travel. Only do this if you are a very very nervous person. Paco

Take the 10fwy across the Gulf States. There is a small upgrade outside San Antonio… continue through New Mexico & Arizona. In Pheonix take the 93 to Hoover Dam. A small incline before dam & after dam. it merges with 95 in Nevada… Continue into Vegas. Any routes more to the north go over some very steep mountains. You should be able to find these freeways all on mapquest. Gas will get more expensive incrementally from Texas on West. gas is way cheaper in AZ than Nevada…top off before leaving the state. About 40 cents a gallon difference. CAGOLDBUYER

Having driven every single mile of I-10 and I-40 and I-75 and I-55
I can tell you that you are much safer on I-40 then you are running across the rat-lands of 1-10 between San Antonio and Tuscon
    I would route it
    I-75 N>I-10 W >I-55N >I-40 W to AZ exit 48 -get gas-
    US 93 N about 4 miles
AZ SR 68 W into Laughlin NV
US 95N to US93 just west of Boulder City NV
As far as elevation changes go
    Your two major ones are
The downhill run from St Charles NM to the Rio Grande River crossing at Albuquerque NM–and then back up the other side
The downhill run off of the Arizona Divide from around mile marker 180 to Ashfork AZ
    FYI
I’ve done Amarillo to Memphis in a day while driving a 26′ U-haul towing a car on a car carrier
If it works out ;Tucumcari NM is an old Rt 66 that’s worth spending a night in
    Safe trip mr danger
