Is Las Vegas a great place to live as far as well paying jobs and schools for my children?

I currently live in chicago,Il and I feel like anywhere is better than here I have actually considered 2 places Las Vegas and Charlotte,NC when ever I get settled I want to open up a laundromat and I love faced paced cities and I want to be somewhere I can get my money generating instead of disintergrating!
