<description>Walk the Strip. Go into the casinos and enjoy the ambience created for the themes of the casinos. (Luxor = Egypt, for example). Take the diagonal elevator. Try it all. See a couple shows. Walk around the new and the old areas. This is Disneyland for adults; lots of simulations that are well-executed.

If you want to get out, Hoover Dam is drivable in a day. They had a hard-hat tour when I was there last time, that might be good for your engineering side. There's also Red Rock Canyon which is a park, so that you can get outside and not have any glitz.

If you have kids under adult age, they will not be admitted into the casinos. You should know that.

Good food, good shows. I don't gamble much, so that's not a draw, but the glitz is unmatched. Walk through Caesar's Palace, and look at the ceiling. The moving statues. They didn't miss a thing.&lt;a href="http://www.myislandholiday.com/tropical-island-vacation.htm"&gt; Lynne W&lt;/a&gt;</description>
