What city in CA is closest to Las Vegas Nevada?

Calada is the closest town in CA, to Vegas, if you can call it a town.

However Barstow is the closest big town in CA to Vegas.
LA is a very long haul.
If your renting a car your choices outside of Vegas are endless.
Try Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Mt. Charleston, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Grand Canyon, Area 51, Death Valley.
And many many more neat and interesting places

Baker is like 100 miles away. But only gas stations and restaurants. Not really any attractions.
