What is the best form of transportation to use when staying in Las Vegas?

We will be staying at Planet Hollywood for six days. Should we take the shuttle from the airport or is a taxi more economical? I know it will be pretty hot, and although I expect for us to walk to some places the distances between attractions can be pretty long. We would like to explore downtown- didn’t have a chance to do this on our last trip. Please let me know about the most economical and safest ways one can get around Las Vegas.

For less than 40 bucks day it will be long deuce ride with car from dollar or heat stroke.

The bus you will have to get downtown you will have to take taxi or the price is the shuttle three either or the best of company on the bus exact change required can be bit scary late at night not the same to get downtown you will only need to take taxi.
