Try to avoid the weekend travel south on Sunday on the 15 and North on Friday to avoid the LA to Vegas crunch. Assuming you are wanting to drive a fairly direct route and are avoiding the LA scene you could stop at the Ontario Mills Shopping Mall. At one time it was the 4th largest in the US and has a few diversions to spend some time. Get off at 4th street in Ontario off the 15. The whole trip should be about 5 hours. Wild Animal park is about 35 minutes north of San Diego in Escondido so that is an option too. Outside of Sea world and the Zoo the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla in nice to see with a lunch in La Jolla. Have fun. gaucho1020

"road trip" of four or five hours? Vegas to San Diego is a pretty quick drive, and it doesn't really take you out towards Anaheim for Disneyland, unless you take, say, the 91 West for about 45 minutes, but then you're not going to San Diego. You could do Disneyland, then take the 5 South for about 2 hours or so to San Diego. Depends where in San Diego you're heading. Generally when I drive Vegas to San Diego, it's just 15 South all the way.

Oops, I didn't see that you already did Disneyland. I dunno, there's lots to do once you've arrived in San Diego. Do the Gaslamp Quarter, Horton Plaza, and Seaport Village, and Little Italy. All four are downtown and you could visit all in a day. Big Al from the Old School
