Steak

try the Golden Steer steakhouse (i think it's the oldest 'steakhouse' in Vegas)

many people have ate there including:

from the "Old Las Vegas" days when Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. were but a few of their regular customers.

The Golden Steer Steakhouse is a restaurant where locals meet and families celebrate birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and other special events. The Golden Steer Steakhouse is also known for many famous and infamous customers such as: Tony "The Ant" Spilatro, Natalie Wood, Al Hirt, Nat "King" Cole, Joe DiMaggio, Elvis Presley, and Mario Andretti just to name a few.

Japanese & sushi

If you like Japanese, hibachi style - go to Osaka Japanese Bistro

Japanese cuisine prepared by Japanese chefs. You can taste the difference.

Osaka has been voted, “Best of Las Vegas” and is truly one of Vegas’ finest dining experiences. From the sushi bar, to the traditional Japanese Tatami rooms, to the Teppan grill, there are all the wonderful flavors of Japanese cuisine in one restaurant. Visit one of their two locations and experience
Osaka Japanese Bistro and all it has to offer.

some comments from online –

My husband's family has been going here for birthdays for years. It is a long-standing family tradition. The food is excellent and prepared right in front of you which the kids love! The atmosphere is great too. It's not a big place so for us it's much more comfortable.

Very nice place to take friends visiting. It's a show just to watch them prepare your meal. They do it right in front of you from the rice to the main course. Not a restaurant to go alone. The meals range from $15.99 to $24.99. T H

You mentioned Macaroni Grill and that made me think you might like Italian? The Bootlegger on South Las Vegas Blvd has wonderful Italian food and very upscale 'old Vegas nightclub' atmosphere. They even have live entertainment several nights a week, I am including the link in case you are curious. Lisa M

The best meal i've had in vegas was at Joe's in Cesar's. You gotta try the black crab claws it was featured on the Food Network's best place to chowdown. They have great service and the upscale feel totally makes your dinner that more special. Dealfinder

Stay in the kitchen and make him something at home! I'm not saying this in a sexist way, I'm saying this as a man.

Most men do not like to have their woman pay for them for anything in public. It destroyes all sense of masculinity. If you want him to feel loved, then make dinner for him yourself.

Plus it will save you alot more money. Eat in, then go out for a show or something. With the money you save, you can sit in the front rather than the cheap seats.

There is no reason to overpay for something you can make yourself. Candles are cheap, recipes are everywhere, place settings are easy, wines can be paired for you if you ask the right people at the liquor store, and food tastes better when made with love.

I know you didn't make it past the first sentence, but I'm not changing it! Stay in and keep it to yourself. Those upscale places with the tiny portions and terrible tasting food are out there for Wealthy men and their Gold-Diggers. MichaelC
